Anya's father lost his dog sledding championship title in an unfair way, but it also led to him meeting Anya's mother and moving from Finland. Anya grew up and, like her father, competes in dog sledding. Now, she has the chance to travel to Rovaniemi, Finland, to compete for the title her father once lost—and the person who took it from him is still the reigning champion. Anya heads there with her best friend, who acts as her equipment manager. During the qualifiers, her lead dog becomes exhausted, putting her participation in jeopardy. That's when journalist Cole steps in—he has a lead dog from his own sledding days and offers it to Anya.
It seems popular to make romantic films set in exotic countries; I'm waiting for one about Sweden. I hope it won’t be as weak as this one. If I were Finnish, I’d be quite upset about how Finland is portrayed. The actors playing Finns in this film are all Icelanders, which says a lot…
