Katie is planning to travel home for Christmas with her boyfriend, who is also her coworker. But just before the trip, he breaks up with her, revealing that he’s moving across the country for a new job. Katie is devastated—perhaps mostly because she was finally going home feeling successful, with a great job and a handsome boyfriend. Her best friend then convinces her to hire a pretend boyfriend to save face, especially in front of her sister. Reluctantly, Katie agrees to interview a number of candidates, each one more hopeless than the last. But then Josh shows up.
