When Brooke’s boyfriend’s business — which she had invested a lot of energy into — finally starts to take off, he breaks up with her and kicks her out. Devastated, she moves back in with her mother. On her upcoming 30th birthday, she’s reminded of the vision board she made when she was 14. As she blows out the candles on her cake, she wishes for everything on it to come true. And suddenly, it starts to. This includes getting an interior design job in a luxury home owned by her old school crush, Hal (who also happens to be on the board). The renovations are being done by Josh. But isn’t it a bit strange that everything is falling into place — and does she still want the same things she did at 14?
No, it doesn’t hold up. It feels a bit sloppily thrown together with overly simplistic solutions. And there’s something about Josh/Jack Pearson that just feels off.
