Charlotte meets Matt briefly when her brother leaves town for military service. Two years later, she has made a breakthrough as a country star. At Christmas, she returns home to spend it with her family and her brother, who has come back from service. It turns out that Matt is in town and is involved in a charity that creates new homes for veteran families who have fallen on hard times. Charlotte soon becomes involved in the cause while also helping her mom, who is a music teacher at the local school.
