Addie accidentally receives a text message from an elderly lady, Nana, by mistake, but they connect and get to know each other over the phone. When Addie's Christmas plans fall through, Nana wants her to come and visit her and her family for Christmas. After some hesitation, she accepts the invitation and goes there. She meets Nana's daughter and her family, as well as Nana's son, James. It turns out to be a very successful Christmas, and the following year, they repeat the event. Addie and James get to know each other during the Christmases, and by the third Christmas, they start to wonder if there could be something more between them, but it seems unlikely as they both have plans to travel in different directions.
As a romantic film, it is good, but as usual, it has a somewhat abrupt ending.
