Nicole and Chase have been neighbours and friends since childhood but in recent years they have drifted apart and ended up in different circles at school. Soon it will be time for the big school ball (100-year anniversary, too). Nicole is not invited by the handsome Ray as she was convinced would happen and Chase's girlfriend breaks up with him for an animal rights activist. They decide to pretend to be together in order to win back their boyfriend and girlfriend.
Despite almost 25 years old, it holds up reasonably well. Perhaps not a top movie, but it works as a romantic film and has its points.
