Cassie has diabetes and can't afford her medication. Luke is haunted by debts from his past life on the fringes of society. However, Luke has now become a Marine and when he hears Cassie asking their mutual friend to marry her in order to benefit from the healthcare benefits that military wives receive, he realizes (despite his reluctance to the idea) that it could also solve his debt problems. They decide to enter into a sham marriage while Luke is deployed in Iran.
This movie is more drama than a classic romantic film. However, it has the romantic resolution as expected.
