Three of Claudia’s friends have all been proposed to while wearing a particular dress. But when it’s Claudia’s turn to wear it, her boyfriend Mike doesn’t propose as expected. Disappointed, she refuses to believe in the dress’s supposed magic. Now, with her best friend Barbie about to get married, the group gathers to help prepare for the big day. As maid of honour, Claudia is paired up with Preston — the bride’s brother — to help with the wedding tasks. There’s always been something between them, but Barbie has never been able to accept it. Mike also shows up for the wedding, and now Claudia’s friends are determined to get him to propose properly.
Predictable, as romantic films tend to be, but it does exactly what it’s supposed to — and does it well. All in all, it's an enjoyable watch when seen for what it is. That said, one might reasonably wonder why the dress is red on the poster but black in the actual film…
