Holiday Hotline

Plot

Abby, who lives in London, feels that her boyfriend, whom she also works for, has taken advantage of her. Therefore, she resigns and breaks up with him at the same time. To cheer her up, her parents offer her on a trip to Chicago for Christmas. There, she stays in her aunt's apartment, which is temporarily vacant. She meets Jack, the architect in charge of renovating the house. Even though she promised herself not to cook again (as she used to work as a chef), she is persuaded by one of her Chicago neighbours to take on a side job in a hotline that provides advice on cooking turkey. She works under the pseudonym Peggy and connects with a single dad, John, who needs to learn how to cook turkey for Christmas. Little do they know that they know each other as Abby and Jack.

Short review

The approach of having the people talking to each other on the phone be in the same room feels a bit amusing at first but becomes a bit clichéd over time. However, if one can overlook that, I think they have put together a good movie with a strong set of characters.
