Morgan and Gabe grew up as neighbours and friends. Morgan is a paediatrician, and Gabe oversees the construction of the new home stadium for the Buffalo Bills. They are both big fans of the team. As Christmas approaches, it’s time for the team’s final game at the old stadium — a major event for both of their families. At the same time, Morgan learns that her uncle has received Christmas gifts from an unknown sender every year since he was sent to Vietnam, after someone anonymously helped his family while he was away. She gets the idea to find out who the anonymous donor is and gets help from Gabe, who at the same time struggles to admit what he truly feels for Morgan.
I think they’ve managed to make a really good film (despite the football theme). It’s romantic and entertaining. It’s also extra fun that it includes a number of cameos. Hunter King (Alana) and Tyler Hynes (Derrick) from Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story make brief appearances. Andrew W. Walker shows up as a bartender at the sports bar, and several members of the Buffalo Bills play themselves.
