Lilli works in marketing, but in her free time, she runs a book club focused on the novelist Jane Austen. During a meeting, when she urgently needs one of Austen’s books, she is confronted by Trevor, who has just bought the local bookstore. That meeting doesn’t go well. Lilli now faces problems, both with her boyfriend and with the book club’s venue, the local pub. At this point, Jane Austen herself suddenly appears to Lilli to offer support. And to Lilli’s frustration, Trevor seems to have some solutions. Maybe he wasn’t as hopeless as he seemed.
As soon as ghosts are involved, my alarm bells start ringing, but this one turns out to be better than I expected. Maybe mostly because the ghost isn't part of the romance. It ends up being a cozy little film.
