Jessie goes from one failed date to another. When her mother threatens to cancel the family’s traditional Christmas celebration to push her out of her comfort zone, Jessie claims she’s planning to bring her new boyfriend. This saves the Christmas celebration, but now she needs a date for the holiday to salvage the situation. She updates her dating app profile to find someone willing to play her boyfriend for the weekend. She gets a response from Bryan, who has no plans for Christmas and thinks it sounds like a fun idea.
If you're willing to believe that a romance can develop so much in a single day, this film becomes a great romantic movie. Not a heavyweight, but as a romantic film, it delivers.
