Amy’s mother died when Amy was seven. She left Amy with a life plan that mapped out her future up until the point where she would marry her seventh boyfriend. So far, Amy has followed the plan closely and is now a fully qualified lawyer with a promising job at a law firm. She has had five boyfriends along the way and feels that her mother’s plan has guided her well.
Now she meets Daniel, whom she truly likes and sees as someone she could settle down with — but he would only be number six. At the same time, Peter, who works at the local café, asks her to accompany him as his date to a wedding he’s attending. Amy reasons that she could count Peter as number six, and therefore agrees to go with him.
A very good romantic film. You could debate Amy’s fixation on her mother’s plan, but it works. Overall, the film maintains a higher level of quality than most.
