Chris arrives at his girlfriend Beth's parents' house, but Beth herself has been delayed. While waiting for Beth, Chris asks her parents, Nell, who is Beth's stepmother, and Dave, how they met. Nell and Dave begin sharing their somewhat complicated story over the next few days (Beth unexpectedly takes a long time to return home). They met on a train but lost touch. However, they meet again later, though what they don’t realize is that they are simultaneously involved in a conflict: Dave is organizing a Christmas event in town, while Nell, who is in charge of the municipality's finances, argues they can’t afford it. The issue is that neither of them knows the other's full name.
This is a well-crafted story that turns out really well. The description of the plot doesn’t quite do it justice, as it’s hard to summarize it properly. The film might not be particularly unique, but it left a good impression and is definitely worth watching.
