Veterinarian Jennifer and her daughter Charlotte have recently moved into town. Nate, who is relatively recently divorced, lives with his daughter Melissa. This film doesn't start very well, it feels a bit stiff and you lack empathy. However, the conflict between the daughters lifts the film a bit, which is why it gets a 4 in the rating anyway. You have to live with the fact that the solution requires a personality change that may not be completely credible.
