The TV station where Gwen works as a meteorologist is struggling and needs a boost to save their jobs. Gwen comes up with the idea that they should partner with a suitable charity to generate goodwill for the station. Lacking better options, the station manager agrees to the plan. Gwen happens to meet Adam, who runs a toy drive for Christmas, and convinces him to feature his charity drive on TV. The idea is that they will challenge viewers daily while promoting the charity campaign. However, it turns out to be more difficult than expected when Adam's very serious demeanor dampens Gwen's cheerful holiday spirit. But Gwen refuses to give up.
It has a certain charm that elevates it to a 4. I found Adam's ongoing relationship rather unclear, and his hockey-obsessed son can be considered a bit of a dud. However, the film is somewhat lifted by the positive Gwen and her old nanny.
