Brie, a highly trained gourmet chef, has opened a restaurant in a small town, but she’s struggling to make it profitable. Now there’s a chance to attract a famous food blogger, ZazYum, to the restaurant — but it requires posting daily updates featuring satisfied customers for an entire month, something Brie finds exhausting since she dislikes social media.
Across the street, John runs a diner and always has access to fresh ingredients, which Brie has trouble sourcing herself. She approaches him to find out where he gets them from. Before long, a rivalry develops between them as they compete to win ZazYum’s attention for their respective restaurants.
Almost nothing in this film feels authentic. The premise is promising, but it’s poorly executed, resulting in something that feels a bit clumsy and overly polished.
