When Annie’s friend is unable to go on a spa week she has booked, Annie goes in her place instead. Her friend thinks Annie needs some perspective and should dare to step outside her comfort zone a bit more. At the spa hotel, Annie meets a variety of guests, including Jake, a businessman who is also there to relax — or so it seems. Jake and one of the hotel employees behave suspiciously, which turns out to be because they are actually private detectives. They are there after receiving a tip that a very valuable stolen piece of jewellery is going to be sold at the hotel. Annie soon gets drawn into the investigation, and she and Jake try to figure out which of the guests has the jewellery.
There are several stories like this, with a mystery at the centre, but they usually don’t end with the main characters actually realising their romance. This time they do — but the result isn’t entirely successful.
