Lucas’s daughter, Bri, has become withdrawn since her mother passed away. The only times she truly lights up are when she hears the stories about Princess Ariel to her. Lucas is worried, and in an effort to help Bri open up, he comes up with the idea of hiring someone to play the role of Princess Ariel for his daughter’s birthday. It turns out to be easier said than done.
One day, however, he spots Emilia in a park — and she looks exactly like Ariel. Emilia works as a mechanic in her father’s garage, but eventually allows herself to be persuaded to take on the role. It goes so well that Lucas wants to hire Emilia for a longer period.
Up Faith & Family has once again produced a low-budget film of questionable quality. The premise might have worked if they hadn’t fallen so hard into cliché territory and had instead focused on grounding the story more convincingly.
