Natalie, a children’s book illustrator, is in need of a strong concept if she hopes to land a coveted position at the publishing house she works for. One day at a café, she stumbles upon a wish list written by Caroline, the daughter of widower Wes. But it’s no ordinary wish list — it’s a heartfelt letter to Jesus, filled with wishes not for herself, but for the happiness and well-being of others. Moved by the idea, Natalie begins developing a children’s book inspired by the list — and at the same time, sets out to help make the wishes come true in real life. Along the way, she also grows closer to Wes and his daughter.
A word of warning — if you struggle with starry-eyed faith in God and Jesus, this might not be the film for you. However, if you can look past that, or at least tolerate it, it holds up as a romantic story.
