Ali and her two friends visit a fortune teller at an amusement park. They all receive predictions, but Ali's is the most specific, including the prediction that she will meet her soulmate and that his name is John (?). Her friends begin to track down all the Johns they know and set up numerous dates for Ali in the hopes that she can find the right one. Meanwhile, Ali gets to know the firefighter Sean and they develop a friendship, but her quest for a John gets in the way.
The production itself is quite okay, but here, it's the story itself that falls short. Everything hinges on the difference between 'John' and 'Sean.' The whole thing becomes even more absurd when the unsuspecting girls also pronounce 'Sean' in a way that sounds like 'John.' That they don't realize the mistake is beyond all reason and common sense.
