Abby leaves her café in capable hands over Christmas to travel home to her parents, who run an inn. When she arrives, she discovers that Jack has booked a room to stay there while visiting his sister. Abby and Jack had a bad date a long time ago, and Abby finds it a bit uncomfortable having him staying at the inn. Every Christmas, her parents host a potluck dinner at the inn, and Jack is more than happy to help with the preparations — which means Abby has to work with him after all. Perhaps he isn’t quite the same person he was twenty years ago.
A standard romantic film that works. It naturally doesn’t offer any surprises, but it delivers exactly what you expect, with actors we recognise.
