Niki has a podcast where she gives relationship advice based on her own perfect relationship. Her agent calls her to a meeting with a publisher who wants to release a book based on her podcast, and he invites her to a weekend away with a few other authors. Niki is thrilled but panics when she realises she’s expected to bring her perfect boyfriend. The problem is—he doesn’t exist. She scrambles to find someone to play the part, but without success. In the end, she asks her incredibly annoying neighbour, Luke, with whom she’s actually in a bit of a feud. He eventually lets himself be persuaded to come along.
The film has its weak moments, but overall it measures up as a romantic film and turns out quite good in the end.
