Plot

Alexis lives with her father in a rural area and is about to finish high school. She loves figure skating, and her interest in skating is something she shares with her boyfriend, Nick, who plays hockey. She is discovered by a figure-skating coach and given the chance to pursue her talent seriously. The training is demanding but also brings results. However, it puts a strain on her relationship with Nick, and eventually it falls apart.
Alexis then finds herself immersed in the elite world of figure skating, but suddenly she suffers a fall, hits her head, and loses her sight. Devastated, she returns home to her father and withdraws from the world. Nick eventually comes to see her, determined not to let her give up.

Short review

The film has a few years on it and feels a bit dated, but they manage to put together a solid romantic story. You could question how realistic her return to the rink is, but that’s something you have to accept — it is a film, after all. Taylor Firth (Alexis) is a professional figure skater, which shows and adds to the sense of authenticity.
