Prince Desmond is set to marry Princess Coralina to ease tensions between their countries. But Coralina breaks off the engagement and marries a plumber instead. The conflict threatens to escalate, so they turn to Bea in Boston—or Princess Beatrix, as she is truly called. She has been living a quiet, anonymous life in the U.S. since stepping away from the spotlight. Hoping the conflict can be negotiated away, she agrees to get engaged to Desmond while talks are ongoing. This also means she must return home and take part in the charade.
For a movie about unknown kingdoms in Europe, this one actually isn’t as bad as most of the others. It’s a bit more unusual in that it’s not a common man or woman meeting royalty, but rather a prince and a princess meeting each other. Mallory Jansen also does a good job as Bea.
