Olivia and Mick are looking forward to a quiet Valentine’s weekend when Mick’s sister suddenly announces that she’s coming to visit. Shortly after, Olivia’s mother gets in touch to say that she and her man are on their way. On top of that, Julie—Mick’s daughter—arrives with her boyfriend.
And as if that weren’t enough, when Mick’s sister shows up she brings along her boyfriend and announces that they plan to get married there over the weekend. To make matters worse, her boyfriend turns out to be an old acquaintance of Mick’s—one he’s disliked ever since an incident many years ago. The stage is set for an eventful weekend.
This film doesn’t quite fit my narrow definition of movies in this collection, but I’ve chosen to include it anyway since it’s part of a six-film series. As a romantic film, it delivers several parallel couples facing different challenges, and overall it works well—especially when viewed as part of the series.
