Weather presenter Ted Cooper has a positive outlook on just about everything, despite a long history of bad luck — especially at Christmas. It has even gone so far that his coworkers place bets on what mishap will befall him this Christmas. He travels home for the holidays, having promised to record a few segments to promote a fundraiser organised by his sister. His bad luck continues, and he soon ends up at the local hospital, where Hope works. He went to school with her but never dared to ask her out, believing she was “out of his league.” Now, however, something begins to develop between them — but is Ted really as positive as he seems?
It’s hard not to be swept along by Ted’s openly optimistic attitude. The office betting is only a small but amusing detail. Overall, this is a well-constructed, humorous, story that holds together all the way to the end.
