Gemma runs a company that organises events, mostly children’s parties. At one of these parties, a fortune teller appears and predicts that Gemma will have a truly terrible date — and then her true love will come along. She has a disastrous blind date with Nick, but on her way home she meets Enzo, who seems like a real dream man. Shortly afterwards, her mother — who wants her to aim for bigger, fancier events — pushes her to take on more prestigious assignments. One thing leads to another, and suddenly she is in charge of organising an event at a museum run by Nick. She does her best to get past their awful first meeting and deliver the event, while Enzo charms her with his flashy celebrity lifestyle.
There’s something English about this film, even though it’s American (and that’s a good thing). If you choose to buy into the slightly mystical fortune teller (who isn’t that prominent), this is actually a really good romantic film.
