The Snow Must Go On

Rating:

Plot

After his initial success, Isaiah struggles to land the next big role on Broadway. At Christmas, he travels home to visit his sister. Just as he is about to pick up his niece from school, the music teacher quits, leaving the school without a director for the annual Christmas play. Isaiah’s niece persuades him to step in as director — something Lilly-Ann, a teacher at the school, is grateful for, as the production was otherwise at risk of being cancelled. When Isaiah then realises that one of the children’s mothers is a renowned Broadway director, he sees an opportunity to be noticed and revive his career. But can he rise to the challenge — and is that really what he needs?

Short review

This is an entertaining romantic film, elevated by Corey Cott as Isaiah. He’s a bit reminiscent of Jim Carrey, but unlike him he doesn’t overplay it — instead he manages to be enthusiastic and funny without becoming irritating.
