When they were young, Morgan was in a relationship with Chris, while her sister Jenny was dating Jonah. Seventeen years later, Morgan and Chris are married and have a daughter, Clara, who is now in her final year of high school. Jonah left his friends long ago but has now returned and has just had a baby with Jenny. Unresolved tensions from their youth remain, while at the same time Clara starts seeing a boy at school. Suddenly, Chris and Jenny are killed in a car accident, leaving Morgan with Clara and Jonah with his infant son. Long-buried truths come to light, and Morgan and Jonah must confront emotions from their shared past.
A romantic drama with several layers of complication. It is as much about Morgan and Jonah as it is about Clara and her romance. It’s difficult to do the film justice when describing the plot (without revealing too much), but it is a well-composed story with both emotional weight and strong performances. Well worth watching.
