When Alex's mother dies, she doesn’t inherit her mother’s company—where she also works—as she had expected. Instead, she receives a list of life goals that she wrote herself at the age of 14, along with instructions to complete them. If she does, there is some form of inheritance, but she doesn’t know what it is. Her mother has left short video messages for each goal she accomplishes. Alex’s whole life is turned upside down as she must find a new job and start questioning her life choices. One of the goals is to find love, and she meets Garret at her new job as a teacher. Meanwhile, the inheritance matters are handled by her mother’s young lawyer, Brad.
A really good film that offers a well-depicted story of how Alex, over the course of a year, embarks on an odyssey through her life. The film maintains a high standard and leaves you with a good feeling. It also features a short epilogue, which always enhances the experience.
