Cynthia is married to Warren, who is much older than her and is now beginning to suffer from dementia. Stan, a former police officer, works as a security guard in the residential area where Cynthia and Warren live, and one night they are affected by a break-in in which Stan tries to intervene. Stan is also dealing with prostate problems, and Cynthia, who is a urologist, encourages him to visit her clinic. An unexpected friendship develops between them, while Cynthia struggles with Warren’s worsening condition and with his daughter, who has never accepted that her father married Cynthia.
A good and relatively unpolished romantic drama. It stands out in this collection for several reasons. The leads are much older than usual, and it also deals with the challenges of that stage of life. It also, of course, differs drastically from the slick, polished Hallmark films.
