Abby is the assistant and ghostwriter for the successful influencer and love advisor Serena. She carries a heavy load and hopes that one day she will be acknowledged for everything she writes. Serena is scheduled to be interviewed by Jack, a journalist from New York. She also plans to charm him into accompanying her as her partner to the annual gala where they award the prize for best podcast. But before the interview, Serena suffers an allergic reaction and sends Abby to postpone it. Jack is ready to head back home, but Abby promises to give him background and context about Serena to make him stay. They spend the next few days doing just that until Serena is ready.
As a romantic story, it works. The main ingredient is the downtrodden assistant who finally gets the recognition (and love) she deserves. One does, however, wonder how things ultimately turned out for the self-absorbed Serena…
