The sisters Faith and Kelly are very different. Their grandmother has just passed away, and when her lawyer reads the will, it turns out she wanted Faith and Kelly to travel to France and Mont Blanc over Christmas to visit the place where their grandparents got engaged. Faith has no problem with this, but Kelly, who is more practical by nature, does not want to go. However, they end up travelling. In France, they are met by Frédéric, who will be their guide for the trip. This marks the beginning of an adventure in which Kelly’s practical and cautious nature is challenged, while she can’t help falling for Frédéric. Meanwhile, Faith struggles with her fear of commitment.
As a romantic film, this one holds up better than many. It also seems to have been filmed on location, sparing us the usual set-piece feeling that is otherwise quite common in these films.
