Sophie is promoted to sous-chef at the New York restaurant where she works. Meanwhile, her sister is struggling to keep their old family restaurant afloat back home. With things reaching a crisis point, Sophie manages to get a few days off — on the condition that she also prepares a special dinner for her boss, who’s meeting potential investors in the same town.
Back home, Sophie runs into Cam, her old school crush, who still works in the local fishing industry. What follows is a few weeks of juggling: saving the family restaurant, meeting her boss’s high expectations, and navigating the resurfacing feelings she has for Cam.
It may not stand out much from the crowd, but it's well made and works nicely as a romantic film. Like so many others in the genre, it certainly would have benefited from a brief epilogue — but all in all, it delivers what it promises well.
