Carrie runs a farmhouse hotel and is fully occupied with Christmas preparations when she is summoned to her bank. It turns out that her financial manager has failed to make loan payments for some time. Now Carrie has to come up with the money before Christmas to avoid foreclosure. At the same time, John checks into the hotel. He has previously tried to persuade Carrie to sell the farm to him, as he has ideas about how it could be developed more profitably. Now she must contend with John while also struggling to save her business.
A rather poor production from several perspectives. The storyline is familiar, but this time it feels somewhat clumsily put together. There’s a lack of immersion and engagement, and it comes across as something made purely out of routine.
