Plot

Anna tries to succeed as an artist, but it's difficult. However, she is quite good at finding the right gifts for people, so she gets the idea to start a "personal shopper" business before Christmas. Marc focuses his life on work and finds it difficult to keep up with everything around him. He hires Anna to fix presents for his friends before Christmas. In order to be able to choose the right gifts, Anna needs more information about Marc's friends, colleagues and family and therefore spends some time with Marc. Something that changes both their lives.

A romantic film a little above average. Good efforts and the story holds it's own and delivers. A typical feel good movie.

Plot

E.J. loses her job and boyfriend in New York. In the end, she is forced to take a job in a small town in Montana. There she comes up with the idea of making a semi-nude calendar with the guys from the rescue services to collect money for it.

An attempt to make a romantic movie out of Calendar Girls (but with guys). The attempt fails. It's evident that the film has a few years behind it. Kristin Chenoweth does not convince.

Plot

Jane has a hard time saying no because she wants to please everyone. She has been bridesmaid at 27 weddings (most recently at two at the same time). She also has a secret crush on her boss, George. Suddenly, her sister Tess comes home and snare George. And soon there's another wedding to planned, where Jane will be her sister's bridesmaid when she marries Jane's love interest. Meanwhile, Jane is followed by a journalist, Kevin, who writes about weddings even though he has a very cynical attitude towards them. At first he is interested in Jane because she is always the bridesmaid, but the interest changes form over time.

Short review

More of a Hollywood than a Seattle movie. Even though it has a few years on it (and it might be good to remember that when you watch it) I think it holds up. It's entertaining and romantic at the same time.

Plot

Willow, who works in hotels, heads home to help with her sister's Christmas wedding. Once home, she learns that they lost the venue for the wedding. Willow gets the idea to hold the wedding at the Inn that once belonged to the family. She then has to persuade David, who now owns the Inn, to agree to do it. He's reluctant and is also in the process of selling it.

A decent romantic movie that contains everything it should without any major surprises.

Plot

When Holly is a child, she wishes to find true love. She gets a snow globe that says she will find it within 20 years. 20 years later, Holly is a lawyer and still single even though her ex-boyfriend, Ted, reappears eagerly cheered on by Holly's sister. One day, however, the doorbell rings and there is a man with a Christmas tree. For various reasons, Holly immediately becomes convinced that this is the love that was promised 20 years ago.

It's like they didn't put any effort at all into making this movie the least believable (as believable as it could get with a story like this).

Plot

Finn learns that his father, with whom he has had no contact since childhood, bequeathed a large portion of his inheritance to Willa, the nurse who took care of him in his last years. Finn suspects a ruse and when he learns that Willa and her son Scout also have been given a trip to an Inn over Christmas, he heads there to find out the truth and defend his inheritance.

A good movie that I think manages to portray David's anger and suspicion and how he finds out the truth in a believable way.

Plot

Jessie breaks off her third engagement because it doesn't feel right and now she wants to avoid relationships until she meets "the right one". Meanwhile, Aiden has made a bet with his poker buddies at work that he can find a girl and marry her before Christmas in four weeks. At an vernissage, he meets Jessie and decides that she is the one he should try to win.

The story is really questionable on so many levels. It's the whole concept of the movie that feels wrong.

SPOILER ALERT: That Aiden blows off the bet is okay, but that they still get married after a few weeks feels really weird.

Jamie runs an art school but she really wants to paint. She plans to expand the school with a new room. At the same time there's an art competition in which she does not intend to participate this time. Max, her best friend's brother moves in next door to Jamie while she dates what she thinks is her dream match, Michael.

A standard romantic movie. Max in the film can be a bit insensitive at times, which drags the whole thing down a bit.

Plot

Joseph is tasked by his mother, who leads the family company, to go and convince Callie to sell her farm. But through a mistake, she thinks he is the new hired farm worker. He sees a chance to influence Callie to sell by working with her. However, it turns out not to be that easy.

The Christmas theme ends up in the background of this one, which is more about the rich man's son who finds the good life in the country. It makes a good romantic movie.

There actually is another movie with the same plot, Holiday in the Vineyards, that aslo feature Josh Swickland as male lead.

Poppy has started an independent flower shop that needs a boost. She decides to enter an annual flower competition. This flower competition has been won by Covington's flower company for many years in a row and they also sponsor the event but Poppy is determined that she will win. At the same time, she meets Garrett, who turns out to be working at Covington, who also has his reasons for trying to win the competition.

A decent film with a very positive Poppy who is very determined despite bad odds.

Addison is the principal who gets a movie star (and alumni of the school and old flame to her) to come and direct the school's Christmas play to save the school.

Lia and her father are working on restoring old carousels that their ancestors built. The royal family of Anacadia (an unknown country in Europé) hires them to restore a merry-go-round for Christmas. The country's prince, Whitaker, also gets involved in the restoration.

Pretty standard romantic movie. Nothing that stands out. One can ponder about the Americans' perception of smaller kingdoms in Europé.

Plot

Antiques dealer Paula is surprised by her boyfriend's proposal and accepts on the spur of the moment. Her aunt notices her doubts and invites Paula to visit her to get away for a while. When Paula gets there, the aunt has arranged a visit to the island with Martha's Vineyard, but her aunt is called away by her publisher and Paula goes by herself. Once there, she meets Gery by chance, who owns an Inn on the island.

A good romantic movie that deliver as it should. A film in the "Good Wink" series.

Addie wishes her neighbor, Sam, to fall in love with her by a shooting star. Instead, it is her newly moved-in neighbor Pete who falls flat on his face in love with her. How is she going to get Pete to quit and win Sam over at the same time?

A somewhat infantile movie but it has it's moments even if it gets quite awkward.

Paige is on her way to New York to meet her future in-laws for the first time. However, a blizzard forces the plane down in Buffalo. Stranded there, she is joined by Maxine and Frank, a couple who have been married for 20 years, as well as Dylan, who she sat next to on the plane and who is very skeptical about the idea of "finding the right one". They are accompanied in their attempts to get to N.Y. and the trip makes them think about things in their lives.

A slightly different romantic film that may not be 100% quality (clichés etc.) but it wins back some as it is entertaining and funny in parts.

Plot

Molly is an editor and writer who loses her job when the local newspaper closes down back home in Connecticut. Patrick who lives in London is drowning in work. Their respective friends persuade them to do a house swap via an agency before Christmas. While living in each other's residences, they begin to exchange messages and a friendship begins to build.

A good romantic movie. Nice change that they build up the romance via messages. The parallel stories with Molly's search for her father's background etc. works well.

Kristin is an assistant to Melaine, who is a PR guru. When Melaine has to go away, Kristin is assigned to receive the Ambassador from an unknown European country. However, it turns out to be the prince of the country who shows up.

The film does not convince, especially not with the stiff prince.

Allison runs a family bakery in White Pines, Tennesee. There, she gets to use her pastry knowledge that she learned in France. A training she terminated when her father fell ill. Now, several years later, she has had time to marry, have a daughter and also divorce. One day, Matthew turns up to convince Allison and others to sell their business to a company that will restructure the town into a resort.

The movie delivers on a theme that is very common. The big company that wants to destroy the nice little town. It sal deliver a decent romantic story.
