I'll admit that I didn't have high expectations for this movie. The story sounded like it could derail into boyishness etc. quite thoroughly. But judge by my surprise that they actually managed to make a pretty good romantic movie out of it. Even if the end is a bit implausible.

A fairly good romantic film with the theme of the production company that wants to use people for the entertainment value. The good side wins, of course.

Abby has trouble letting people into her life and after her boyfriend breaks up with her, her aunt convinces her to open her heart in a letter and put it in a bottle an throw it into the sea. The bottle happens to be found by Nick, the son of the owner of the company Abby works at. They get in touch anonymously over the internet while being forced to work together without knowing who the other is.

Nurse Georgie is to marry Phillip, who is a plastic surgeon. The wedding is hyped by her mother but strongly frowned upon by Phillip's mother. They gather the days before at a wedding hotel to prepare the wedding. There, Gorgie meets Luke, who lives next to the hotel.

A good romantic movie that doesn't get too unbelievable.

Allie gets the chance to write an article for the magazine she works for. Her first idea doesn't win any support, but when the editor hears about a coffee shop that doubles as a dating service where the owner, Sam, is having great success matching up his customers, they want Allie to write about it. She gets to learn more about how it's done but is as sceptical of the concept as she is of the chance to meet the right one.

The story is good and the actors do a good job. Several parallel romances develop, each in its own way.

Jake, as manager of his father's department store, has bet on not buying the year's most popular Christmas present. A daring decision that can pay off. One day, Mrs. Miracle turns up as an employee in the toy department without anyone being able to really explain how it happened. Meanwhile, Holly tries to balance her job as a marketing manager at a clothing design company with taking care of her nephew while the brother serves in the military. With Mrs. Miracle in the background, it just so happens that Jake and Holly bump into each other in different contexts.

As a single mother, Dana is quite overprotective of her son and she feels, as he grows up, that he becomes more distant. In an attempt to get closer to him, she decides to go camping with him. At the camp, Dana also meets Steve, who is there with his daughter for the same reason.

A fairly average film that delivers what it should but not convincingly. The "cliff wall" they climb looks rather like they could have walked up it.

After a failed meeting in Chicago, Emma consoles herself with champagne on the flight home and gets a little tipsy. Then the plane gets into strong turbulence and she thinks they will crash. She reacts by telling all her innermost secrets to the passenger in the seat next to her. But they land safely. The next day, back at the office, everyone is nervous about the arrival of the top manager who is coming to visit. To Emma's horror, the boss turns out to be Jack, the man she spilled her whole life to on the flight.

Slightly different romantic story as it has an "The Office" humor vibe. It very works well both as that and as a romantic movie.

Every year, Phoebe looks forward to organizing the Christmas celebration at Candy Cane Lane. However, Louise McGraw who usually organizes the celebration moves out of town and the whole celebration falls apart. Phoebe finds it hard to accept that there will be no celebration and feels lost in the run-up to Christmas when she doesn't have her great tradition to rely on. Eric, the town vet, helps her find new ways to celebrate Christmas.

Lilly, who is an ambulance driver/paramedic, dreams of entering medical school one day. She runs into Jeff, a rich man, who is parking in a tow zone for rescue vehicles and she manages to get his car removed. When Lilly is called out on an emergency call and it turns out that the injured person is Jeff's father, Jeff tries to ask her out. She declines but Jeff becomes obsessed with winning her over.

Early from Iowa gets the chance to try out for 'big league baseball' in California. Once there, he meets a teammate, Rodrigo, who takes him to his family restaurant, Casa Vita. At Casa Vita one of kitchen staff is Rodrigo's sister, Ariana, who dreams of opening her own restaurant as she does not get along with her father, who owns Casa Vita. Early gets a job at the restaurant as he needs extra money while trying to qualify for the baseball league. Ariana and Early have to fight for their respective dreams but also find each other despite their differences.

The film has a good storyline with parallel dreams (ambitions) that are challenged and fought for while the romance blossoms.

She starts tidying up the slightly run-down place together with the owner, Andy. The star of the series, however, wants to come there and talk trash about the place.

Meredith is the heir to the Rossmans department store. With her economics degree, she has plans to expand with franchising and is very focused on numbers and sales. Her parents are a little more hesitant. As Christmas approaches, they find the old Mrs. Claus costume her mother used to have at the department store. They persuade Meridith that if she wears it and participates in the Christmas traditions, they could consider franchising. This also means that Meridith has to work with Nick, who is the department store's Santa Claus.

Nah, this one does not convince. What is it that makes Meridith become a different person? When does it happen?

Anna is the daughter of the President of the United States and cannot move (including dates) without a security detail following her. It doesn't help that her father is the protective type. On a trip to Prague, she manages to evade her protectors and then meets Ben, who helps her experience freedom. What she doesn't know is that Ben is also a bodyguard tasked with protecting her.

A slightly different romantic movie about getting to live out your life even as the president's daughter. I was pleasantly surprised by the film, which I think holds up.

Lucy is a very structured and orderly violinist in a quartet. When her boyfriend leaves her because she's too boring and she doesn't accept that he compensates with porn, she makes a list of pornographic things to do to prove that she's not as inhibited as she's been accused of. At the same time, she meets Grant who is at a wedding where the quartet is playing. How can she balance working with the list while falling for Grant

A film that maybe balances on some edge (even if it is in no way very explicit) but it is really funny in parts. During the discussion after the wedding at the beginning, the sound effects in the background (not visible in the picture) are worth humor points and a special mention.

Liam is an author and writes under a pseudonym. On a flight to Portland, he ends up next to Sophie, who is a book critic. They become acquainted without her knowing about his secret writing.

Noelle's life is on hold after her dream of becoming a photographer was put on hold when her boyfriend, who was a photographer and whom Noelle used to assist, dumps her. Now she works with HR at a department store. She is assigned to organize the fundraiser that the department store is sponsoring for the benefit of the local fire station. Jake, Noelle's new neighbour, works at said fire station. One evening, Noelle happens to be locked in the department store and there a guardian angel appears and tries to help her with her life choices.

A pretty good movie. It is unexpectedly lifted by Jean Smart who plays the guardian angel Charlie.

Funny note: 39:28 into the film there is a sequence with a shot from outside the department store that Noelle works in, and it's NK in Stockholm! You even see Sergel monument the far left.

Adelaide is a country star on the verge of her big break. Her manager wants her to fake a relationship with another, bigger, country star and the manager isn't willing to let her write her own songs. One day, Adelaide gets left behind by the tour bus and a family that runs a Christmas tree farm lets her stay there until they come back to pick her up. No one in the family knows who she is except the son, Dillon, who suspects it is her. She gets a few quiet days at the farm and discovers that Dillon also writes music and plays excellent guitar.

Due to a lack of hotel rooms, Richard gets to stay at the ranch for a few days, even though Sam does not want to sell the ranch to him.

Doctor Jessica works too much but now she has promised her daughter, Samantha, a holiday in Fiji. They go to the hotel where she met her husband, Samantha's father, who is now gone. The hotel is operated by of Will doing what he can to make Jessica and Samantha happy. Jessica also meets a medical colleague who is a specialist whose work she has followed. Jessica receives news that she may be getting a promotion at work and now has to ask herself if it's something she wants as it means even more work.

A good and reasonably predictable movie about work not being everything, romance is e.g. also important.

Food stylist Holly goes home for Christmas to find that Mrs. Rose is going to sell her bakery where Holly worked as a youngster and where they always buy their Christmas cookies every year. But Rose plans to have a competition and if there is someone who can bake as good cookies as her, this person will keep the bakery going. Holly enters the competition despite not being very good at baking. There she also gets competition from Brad, who moved to the city from Florida to work as a dessert chef at the local restaurant.

Well, as a romantic film it meets most requirements. Possibly, it can also feel a little liberating to avoid a twisted "problem" at the end of the film.

When Natalie's cousin announces that she is stuck in Europe and cannot open her restaurant for Christmas as planned, Natalie intervenes. With the help of the Italian chef, Stefano, who the cousin hired for the restaurant, they do everything they can to open the restaurant on time.

Gabby has lost her spark as a chef with star chef Franco. She goes to her step-sister in Bright shore and there she learns that there is an empty restaurant for rent. It also means that Caleb, who runs his father's old restaurant on the same street, gets competition and reason to think about making changes.

Real feelgood movie that is well made. It may lack drama but it makes up for it with the message to daring.

Charles is a successful engineer living at the turn of the last century. When he tinkers with an antique clock that he intends to give to his fiancée as a Christmas present, he goes numb and when he regains consciousness, it is a hundred years later and his home has been turned into a museum/event house that re-enacts his mysterious disappearance a hundred years ago. Megan works there, having written a thesis about him.

A fun twist to an OK romantic film. One can disregard the fact that Charles does not react more strongly to how development has gone over a hundred years.

In the Christmas rush, Abby and Ryan mix up the Christmas presents for their respective children. Abby does some detective work to find out where Ryan works and seeks him out to exchange the hotly-requested gifts. A series of events means that they have to help each other with various things during the next day and even if they start with an anipathy towards each other, it changes during the next day.

It holds up as a romantic film but could have benefited from dragging out the plot over a longer period of time. Everything feels very rushed and you wonder how they manage to do everything in basically two days.

Her mother and her best friend, who is the mother of Natalie's old boyfriend, Zach, immediately start conspiring to get the two of them back together despite Natalie's boyfriend in LA.

Connie and Will each own a toy store near each other and are fierce competitors since their parents fell out. Suddenly, Roy's Toys (whose logo is suspiciously similar to Toys'R'Us), the big chain, announces that they will open a store in their town. Faced with an outside threat, Connie and Will reluctantly agree to work together to try to get Roy's Toys out of town.

Captain Grace Garland, a decorated veteran of Afghanistan, has just finished her tour of duty. On her way to a new job, she crashes the car at Rivers Crossing. She gets help from the local judge, Joe, but is stranded there as her car needs repairs. Luckily, Joe has an extra cabin that she can borrow. During her stay in the city, she gets to know the society, the city, the Christmas celebration and perhaps mainly Joe.

Actually, maybe not a particularly remarkable romantic film. I was mostly taken by the fact that it's like they gave all they had. This film does not hesitate, but pulls out all stops.

Wedding planner Meg has taken it upon herself to plan her best friend and cousin Ellie's wedding. She tries to top it off with an assignment to plan a high-profile wedding that is very important to the company. Best man at the wedding is Tyler, Meg's nemesis from school. To complicate matters, Carly's brother the Crown Prince also shows up and her alias is threatened to be revealed. When the ball is threatened by bad attendance, maybe only a royal presence could save it…

Another royalty from an unknown little kingdom in Europe (how many are there?). However, the movie is a little better than the usual "royal" romances.

Allison works hard to succeed as a marketer. When the company's CEO brings the entire company (including Riley's boyfriend, Bryce, who works at the same place) to an activity camp, Allison is surprised that it's the same camp she spent a number of summers at as a teenager. She is also surprised that Cody, who she was with at that time, something that did not end well, is still working at the camp.

The film is good and delivers on the romance theme with just the right amount of drama.

Kate is a newly minted clothing designer but finds it difficult to get a job. Although she would have preferred to avoid it, she eventually takes a job at her father's clothing company. There, her stepmother and her two daughters dominate. They outmaneuver Kate by accusing her of leaking designs to the competitor. Kate, who has seen how her stepmother destroys her father's company from the inside, is supported by her godmother to disguise herself as a male designer and return to the company to put things in order. She also gets help from Daniel, who works as a shoe designer at the company.

A Cinderella story in the world of clothing design. Maybe not perfect, but somewhat entertaining.

When a hurricane hits Lauren's hometown, her dog is rescued by Collin and they must seek shelter together. It gets a little awkward since Lauren hasn't liked Collin since he said no to her five years ago. When the hurricane has moved on, Lauren's house is destroyed. Both she and Collin get involved in the work of restoring society. Lauren decides to rebuild her house herself. Her boyfriend, Dane, offers to pay for a construction crew but she wants to do it herself. Collin also offers but Lauren is determined to fend for herself. In the restoration work, however, Lauren and Collin are getting closer to each other again.

One day Wendy gets stuck in an unreliable elevator with a handsome guy and in the heat of the moment they exchange a kiss. When the elevator comes down, they quickly separate and Wendy doesn't get to know who he was. The next day, however, he shows up and it turns out that he is Adam who is Prescilla's boyfriend. He doesn't recognize Wendy since yesterday. On top of this, Prescilla uses Wendy to decorate Adam's apartment for a Christmas gala to be held where Prescilla hopes Adam will propose. However, Adam can't quite let go of the thought of that girl he met in the elevator.

It survives mainly on the fact that the bad person is allowed to continue to be bad and doesn't get sugary at the end like in so many other movies. But Adam must be both blind as well as stupid. And Brendan Fehr makes the impression even worse.
