A good romantic film with obvious development and cute puppies.
Maggie works at a publishing house. Her hobby is matching people up. She takes it upon herself to find a date for her boss, Amanda. At the same time, Amanda announces that they have signed a successful author for the publisher that she wants Maggie to take care of. It turns out to be Jaxson who Maggie dated in high school but her family made her break up with.
A good romantic movie. Emily Rose makes the role of Maggie believable, a really good effort.
As a child, Melanie wished as a Christmas present from Santa that one day she would meet her "Prince Charming". As an adult, she now runs a bakery and dates a successful CEO, Justin. Before Christmas, Justin wants Melanie to come up to his family's luxury house and meet his mother. However, he does not have time to go up with her, so he sends his assistant Dean to pick her up. Melanie, having met a nice white-bearded man, Chris, on the flight convinces Dean to pick him up on the way and drop him off where he's going. When they drop Chris off, however, their car breaks down and Dean and Melanie are forced to wait while it is fixed. Meanwhile, Melanie gets reason to think about who her "Prince Charming" really is.
An good romantic movie without any surprises (except possibly a bear). It's cute and a little funny in its simplicity.
Lou loses her job and has to look for a new one to help bring in money for the family when dad is unemployed. She manages to get a job as a care taker for a Will who has been paralyzed from the neck down.
Her positive outlook on life is contrasted with his negative one. This is more of a drama than a romantic movie. SPOILER ALERT: This movie should not really be in this collection as it does not end "happily ever after", but it is a good movie so I kept it in.
Joan has just arrived at the hotel for her son's wedding when it turns out the wedding planner dumped them for a high-profile wedding. Now Joan is forced to work with Beau, the bride's uncle, to fix everything before the wedding. However, it turns out that Joan and Beau met once before, a long time ago.
The movie is OK. Some flashbacks lead us into the background but not the explanation for their strained relationship.
Jared and his mother Dana have moved to California after his parents' divorce. He is sad about losing his Iowa friends and that his dad has moved to the East Coast and can hardly see him. One day they get an assignment at school to write to the soldiers serving in Bosnia and Jared gets in touch with Sergeant Vince. Vince answers and as a child of divorce himself, he takes on Jared. When Vince comes home on leave, he looks up Jared and then also meets Dana. They are attracted to each other but both find it hard to bond as they know Vince can be called away at any time.
This movie is decent despite coming from UP Faith & Family. The religious pointers are few. You have to live with the Americans' praise of the military.
Cate has taken over as CEO at grandma's candy cane factory, which is having a hard time coping with its seasonal production before Christmas. The board has decided to bring in a business consultant, Gabe, to find the weaknesses and make the company more long-term sustainable.
A normal romantic movie that works with candy canes and all.
Noëlle and Jessie are divorced since Noëlle thought Jessie had an affair. Years later, they converge, Noëlle's new fiancé, their daughter, Noëlle's mother, a new girl who hangs out with Jessie in their mountain cabin.
Probably meant to be a romantic comedy but it falls flat.
Kayla is engaged to celebrity choreographer Carlton. One day she gets stuck in an elevator with chef Dustin. When there is a mistletoe hanging in the elevator, they spontaneously exchange a kiss. It soon turns out that Dustin is the one who will deliver the catering for Kayla and Carlton's engagement party. The acquaintance with Dustin makes Kayla think about her slightly crooked relationship with Carlton.
A good romantic film with a very self-absorbed Carlton.
Jessica receives a prestigious assignment to design a pre-Christmas photoshoot for a magazine wedding theme. If she lands it, it could mean promotion to partner in the firm. The only problem is that the magazine has hired the photographer Eddie who is Jessica's ex-boyfriend and they did not end their relationship in a good way.
A fairly good romantic film, even if you think that Eddie lacks sensitivity (not to mention that he sometimes seems blind, deaf and stupid) but without that there would have been no drama.
Childhood friends Maggie and Jack are morning presenters together at a local radio station. The show is popular as they share their private lives. Now comes the chance to make the show national, but the national company wants them to open with a New Year's broadcast where they introduce their respective boyfriend and girlfriend to their families at the jointly owned family restaurant Magnolia. But both Maggie and Jack get dumped and to try to save the situation they fake a relationship with each other to make it more interesting for the national company.
A good romantic movie where fake might not be so fake after all.
Rachel is a psychologist with her own TV show. The producers want to remake the show into a more conflict-filled and less psychological show. Rachel goes home over Christmas to, among other things, think about this. There she meets her childhood friend and old love Mitchell.
Despite a rather Americanized story, it still finds a certain "authenticity".
A group of small boys raise money to hire a prostitute to see her naked. After some complications, she ends up in one of the boys' tree houses and eventually meets his single father.
A film that time has not been kind to.

To show how good it is, she is forced to use the app herself and is paired with Jeff, a guy she's bumped into a couple of times before with bad vibes. Despite this, they decide to continue dating before Christmas when they are invited to several 'plus one' events.
A good romantic movie with an app and all.
Holly is in charge of fixing the big Christmas tree in Chicago and her enthusiasm for the task has earned her the name Miss Christmas. This year, however, the tree is damaged and Holly must quickly find a replacement. In the huge collection of letters with various proposals, Holly finds a letter from the little guy Joey who sent a picture of a perfect Christmas tree. She goes there but finds Joe's father Sam unwilling to part with the tree. A persuasion campaign starts.
Maybe not specifically something wrong with the film, but it never becomes really good.
Jessica is a TV meteorologist who doesn't believe in Christmas. She has lost the family's magic mistletoe, the one that creates love wherever it goes. She sets out to hunt it down and is joined in the hunt by Luke, an old schoolmate she barely recognizes.
Could have been something, but they seem to have read the manual but didn't understand anything. It is made completely without the right feeling for what works.
Josh accompanies his twin brother, who is a celebrity chef, to a prestigious cooking competition in the Mediterranean. The brother gets back pain when it's time to sign up for the competition and Josh volunteers pretending to be his brother and accidentally ends up in the middle of the competition. It is arranged by Meg and a spark is lit between them, but his brother is married. How will this go?
The film works quite well. Unusually, his brother is actually married to his companion Henri.
Wren is focused on her career in New York but is forced to deal with the aftermath of a failed relationship when Owen, her ex-boyfriend, hires her company.
Half good movie. Many who are paired up and the right pair get each other in the end.
Fiona is dumped by her boyfriend because she is always busy. To relax, she goes to her father's Inn with her friend, Angela. There she ends up in a bit of a conflict with Derek, the chef at the place. Her old boyfriend, Nate, shows up with a new girlfriend. Fiona then asks Derek to pretend they are together to make Nate jealous.
The film works well and it's not just the syrup that's sweet.
The lawyer Susan does a lot of 'pro bono' work which causes her firm to do badly. One day Nick steps in, he wants to sue the app company "Love Guaranteed" because he hasn't found love despite 1000 dates. Despite her hesitation, Susan takes the case and begins background checks on Nick and his dates. They spend a lot of time with each other and feelings heat up, something that could become a problem in court.
A good romantic movie with the honest and good lawyer who gets the chance to take a high profile case.
Burke tours as a speaker on coping with grief. Now he visits Seattle where he lived when he was widowed in a car accident. At the hotel, he runs into Eloise, who is a florist and takes care of the hotel's flower arrangements. She dismisses him but he persistently tries to ask her out. Meanwhile, things are not as they seem with Burke, despite his positive lectures, he does not seem to have dealt with his demons as he claims.
The film is more of a Hollywood production with more famous stars and the plot a bit more substantial. A good romantic movie.
Hannah manages a home renovation program as an interior designer. Now the head of the channel gets the idea that, to make the series more interesting, Hannah should go to her hometown to renovate a historic house into a B&B. The situation becomes complicated when it turns out that the renovation is to be overseen by the new city architect who turns out to be Jeff, Hannah's boyfriend during school days.
A good romantic film that gets a slightly higher rating because it ends a bit in reverse (the romance gets its happy ending but it's not Hannah moving back to the small town).
Emma returns to the small town after being away after a serious car accident in which her best friend, Tracey, was injured. Tracey's brother Will has a hard time forgiving Emma who he considers scum after the accident.
Good but not all the way.
Terri and David are both hosts of a shopping channel. They have two different styles and don't get along. Now there is a chance for one of them to be promoted, but they are also paired up to run features together for two weeks.
This is a scary movie from the stronghold of commercialism. The presenters seem to take their jobs as a charity job where they make people happy by selling them stuff they don't need. They also achieve a form of idol status through this job. The reason it doesn't get a bottom rating is that the romantic storyline is OK, if you can watch the movie without vomiting.
Leah, a TV weather presenter, decides to move away from home, focus on her meteorology education and not meet any guys for a year. As a new neighbor, she gets Mark, who tries to live in the city for a year. Friendship develops.
A half decent movie but not much more.
When the university has its grants cut, Julie loses the funds to finish her doctoral thesis, and thus her dream of getting a position at her favourite museum is threatened. In order to continue, she now needs to get money in some other way. Julie is very knowledgeable about languages (she is fluent in ten languages as well as two extinct languages) and she gets the idea to teach languages. She is tasked by a couple of parents she teaches to teach their son, Dan, French so that he can better speak to his French girlfriend in her language. It also turns out that Dan works at the museum that Julia wants to work at.
The film holds up even if Corey Sevier who plays Dan is not particularly good.
Amber loves her profession as a project manager and is offered a lucrative job in London. However, her father hurts his foot and she goes home to help her mother in the family cafe a couple of weeks before she leaves. Once there, she meets Jason, as they both get involved in the town's annual Founder's Day celebration. She begins to think about her life.
Maybe the movie could have been good but when she is first mocked for being "from the city" when she has no cash and then abandons her life that she was so happy about, it went down the drain for me.
To generate publicity for the hotel she works for, Ally has appeared in a Find-love reality show. She becomes a finalist and will have a number of dates with Tanner, who is the bachelor on the show. The TV company sets up these dates in the town where Ally grew up and where her parents live. Her ex also still lives there.
The movie could have been good with a different ending.
Jessie runs her grandmother's pastry shop. She receives a prestigious order for a wedding cake for a famous designer's wedding. In the process, she also meets the designer's brother, Aidan, and his daughter. When she learns that the building in which her cafe is located is threatened with sale and demolition, she does everything she can to save it.
A romantic film with a lot of feel-good. Not much grit in the machinery.
Amy helps her daughter move to university and takes the opportunity to visit her best friend since college. Amy is persuaded by her to stay for a few weeks and organize the annual harvest festival, which has lost its sting in recent years and is threatened with closure. This she is expected to do with Noah, one of the university's professors in charge of agricultural education.
A good film about the widow Amy who is a little lost when her daughter moves away from home and she hasn't worked since the daughter was born. A cute movie.
Aimie is constantly working on different campaigns for good causes. When she hears that the city's big tree is to be felled, she immediately gets involved. She ends up in conflict with Kyle, who has been tasked with felling the tree.
A nice romantic film with the always cheerful and energetic Ashley Williams as Aimie
Lily comes to her hometown to help her aunt with her Inn. There she meets pilot Marcus who runs a business that takes care of dogs and places them in new homes.
If you ignore the ridiculous "Pilots for pups" and the lack of flying with someone to work as a pilot, this is a standard romantic movie.
Chloe works hard as a producer of podcasts and needs a vacation. She gets the idea to go on holiday on Iceland and brings her old travel buddies from the past. She did not expect that her old boyfriend, Charlie, that also was in the travel gang, would turn up.
An average romantic film with the slightly different setting of Iceland.
Amber's life could be better. She experiences a day when her schoolmate and work colleague is celebrated for her pregnancy (baby shower) and that she also snipes the account that Amber tried to get. At the same time, Amber tries to reconnect with another colleague who broke up with her. After this miserable day, she wakes up the next morning to the same day…
A Groundhog story that I didn't have high expectations for, but that grew on me little by little and is actually quite entertaining.
Kira, who is a web designer, is mentioned in a will in South Africa. She goes there believing that she has inherited some memorabilia from her uncle but learns that she has inherited a safari park. Sha now has to decide what to do with it. Tom works in the park and tries to prevent it from being owned by a large corporation.
A 'run of the mill' romantic film that is unusually set in Africa.
Maggie has an idea to improve the range at the frozen food company she works for. She wants to hire a gourmet chef to design a number of frozen dishes. She and the company make a deal with chef Hank, they save his restaurant which is having temporary problems in exchange for him creating a number of recipes for the company.
A pretty good romantic movie. The romance is allowed to grow through the film. The theme is the heartless corporation versus the aspiring entrepreneur.
Laurel finds it difficult to break through as a fashion designer and when her new roommate advises her to work as a personal assistant, she contacts the agency to find a job. She is lucky and manages to get a job as an assistant to Danny, a professional soccer player who has recently been injured and is forced to take a break from playing. Danny is sceptical about having a woman as his assistant with Laurel convincing him to stay even though she knows nothing about football.
Despite the sports theme, this movie makes a good romantic movie. Much thanks to Emily Kinney.
Alex is bored at her job as an editor and when the opportunity arises to go on a report for the travel magazine she works for, she pitches the idea of writing about the slightly secretive action photographer Cole. The pitch goes a little awry when she is instead sent off to make a report about experiencing adrenaline-pumping activities at the snow resort instead. Something that really doesn't suit Alex. However, she meets Cole who reluctantly undertakes to guide her to her activities.
A decent romantic film about confronting one's fears and thinking in new ways.
Ornithologist Abby is tasked with following up photographer Alice Hughes' study of the bald eagle in Alaska, which was done in the 70s. As a guide, she gets Eric, Alice's grandson, to show Abby to the secret valley where Alice did her studies. Eric doubts whether Abby will be up to the task but Abby is determined despite the challenges.
If somewhere they used the equipment (tents, life jackets, backpacks, ropes, etc.) as something other than accessories at a fashion show, I might have been a little more impressed.
Lucy inherits her aunt's historic property, but it turns out that her ex. since the youth also did (half). They have completely different opinions about what to do with the property.
The film fulfils its purpose. A lot about compromising.
Kate works as an assistant to the editor of a Seattle newspaper. She dreams of writing reports and pitches a story to her boss. Instead, the new reporter (and son of the paper's owner), Drew, gets the assignment. In any case, Kate manages to talk herself into coming along as an assistant and expert since the subject of the article is in her hometown.
A good romantic film that develops in a good way with feel-good and all. Good acting in particular from Marcus Rosner.
Dr. Lizze is an administrator at a hospital that needs a helicopter pilot. After some hesitation, she hires Charley, who she finds to be a little disorganized. At the same time, she and her daughter meet an older man in the store and her daughter and the old man become friends. It is then revealed that the older man is Carley's father.
A good story with some flying too. Cute with the daughter who befriends Charley's dad.
Kate is a single mother to Sophia and Eric is an equally single father to Owen. Both Sophia and Owen have set their sights on adopting the same dog. As a test, the families share the dog during the first month.
A good romantic film with an expected outcome between the single parents.
There is a family feud going on between the Cabella and Brandini families who each have neighboring olive groves. Nicole has just taken over the Cabella farm after her grandfather and is planning an expansion. At the same time, Jake, the grandson of the Brandini family, comes home to visit. He is a lawyer and now he discovers that the land where Nicole is planning an extension may belong to the Brandini family. Set up for controversy and romance.
A somewhat ordinary romantic film that also offers an orgy in olive oil tasting.
Becca is on her third 'major' at university and can't bring herself to finish (any of them). When she finally tries to find a topic for her graduation thesis by taking a job as a teacher assistant, she meets Emily who has lost her mother. Through Emily she also learns to know her father Nate. Becca also lost her mother when she was young and finally a theme for her theses comes to her.
A good film that deals with losing one's mother early.
Along with her job as an accountant, Hailey runs Puppy Party Playdates, which rents out puppies for events while trying to get the puppies adopted. She meets Ryan who has a daughter, Emmy, who really wants a dog. At the same time, Hailey is pushing the issue of creating a dog center in the municipality and Ryan, who works at the municipality, is tasked with having a business center built at the same location.
A romantic film that measures up without surprises.
Author Charlotte is about to publish her new book about how she saved her relationship when her boyfriend broke up. Now she must try to save her career by quickly finding a new topic to write about. She gets stuck in an elevator with Rob, who runs a wilderness camp, and after that she gets the idea to write about how she, as a city girl, would cope in a wilderness experience. She goes on a one-month training camp with Rob.
A so-so romantic story even if it's not much of a wilderness camp, more like a holiday camp.
Maddie is a keen marketer. To strengthen her ties with a client, she accepts an invitation to the client's wedding. On the way there, however, she gets lost and has engine problems in the small town of Christmas Valley, where she has to stop at a small inn. She is forced to stay for several days and gets to know the town's inhabitants. Especially Kevin, who runs a Christmas tree farm, and his daughter Jo.
A good romantic film on the classic theme of leaving the busy city life for an idyllic country resort.
Claire's father gets a lawsuit over a demarcation of the plot against the neighbor. Since Claire is a lawyer, she immediately heads home to assist her father. There she discovers that the neighbor is represented by her schoolmate Patrick, against whom she constantly competed during school.
A good romantic film that may not stand out from the crowd but it delivers what it needs to.
Christina has taken over her mother's restaurant after her mother died. However, she is an adopted child and has had a DNA test. When she gets the test, it turns out that she is 50% Jewish and that she seems to have relatives nearby. Through the DNA service, she gets in touch with a Jewish family to whom she is related, and they take her in as one of the family. They also have a family friend, David, who temporarily lives with them.
If you have a hard time with sentimental feel-good, this is not the film for you, but if you appreciate it, this is a good romantic film.
Joey plans to make "the most epic proposal ever!" to his girlfriend Claire and broadcast live on his podcast channel from a national park. However, it doesn't happen any better than Claire falling down a cliff and landing in a river and they are separated. Joey sets out to look for Claire when he runs into park ranger Natalie who joins the search. Meanwhile, Colt, who is part of the search team, finds Claire. However, this does not make Claire as happy as one would think as Colt is her ex-boyfriend.
A rather light-hearted story that is a bit overplayed in parts (acting-wise).
Julia runs her Real estate brokerage firm and finds herself in conflict with Chad, another real estate agent who steals business from her. Now there is a new larger property coming on the market where the owners want the prospective agents to spend a week at the property, which is an Inn, to get a feel for which agent is most suitable.
A real estate broker film about romance. It works but not much more.
Recently widowed, Kathy is now trying to make the bike shop she and her husband owned together work. Before Christmas, she avoids all Christmas traditions as they remind her of her husband. The only tradition she continues is baking Christmas cookies, something she is very good at. When she meets Tim, who runs a Christmas tree business, new feelings arise, but can she accept them with her dead husband fresh in her memory?
A well-constructed romantic story that actually becomes quite believable at its reasonably leisurely pace.
Melissa has attitude problems as a director and difficulty finding work. Her manager sends her off on a silly mission to direct a small town Christmas play. The assignment pays well so she leaves. Once there, she has to fight with a small amateur ensemble with their own desires but also with her old boyfriend who turns out to run the town's café.
The quality of the film is not good. I find it a bit hastily put together.
Hailee, who is a famous TV host, finds out that her boyfriend is cheating on the air. To clear her mind, she goes on a car ride where she happens to drive down the fence of a local judge. She is sentenced to a week of community service and Beck, who was the one who witnessed the accident, offers her to do the community service by building a team for the town's Christmas parade that young people build to raise money to save their youth farm that Beck runs.
The film does not become believable mainly because of Hailee (AnnaLynne McCord) who does not really blend into the film. She is more of a photo model than a person in the film.
Kendra, a writer for a news service, finds a ring in an antique shop with the inscription "My Christmas Love 1948". She becomes curious about the history of the ring and begins to search for who it belonged to. After some searching, she finds Michael who is the grandson of the ring's owner, but he doesn't know its history either.
A fairly good romantic film with the classic theme of mean hunger for sensation in the news world pitted against empathetic journalism.
Christine is having a hard time. She is threatened with eviction, she loses her job and her ex has sued her for custody of their two children. The reason she loses her job is that she stops to save a woman who had a heart attack. The woman enlists the help of her grandson Jason to try to find the person who saved her life. Jason meets Christine several times but doesn't realize she's the one he's looking for.
A very good romantic movie. Just the right amount of drama and misery. Anyone who doesn't like a "feel-good" orgy at the end is warned.
Victoria has a bakery which makes amazing wedding cakes. During a delivery, she gets help from Jacob, who she thinks is a waiter at the place. What she doesn't know is that he is Jacob Adams III, son of the developer who is in the process of evicting Victoria's bakery to develop the houses. Jacob must now juggle his interest in the stunning Victoria and his job with his father. And how will Victoria react when she learns the truth?
A good romantic film even if the resolution of the eviction problem can be perceived as a bit silly and the end a bit cheesy.
Mira is very determined. She must have the perfect manager position, the perfect apartment and the perfect boyfriend. Suddenly everything falls into place, after getting stuck in the elevator with the CEO, she gets the chance for the manager's job and thus also the apartment. Just before that, she also happens to meet the perfect guy when she's out on an errand. But is it right?
A decent film, a bit about seeing what you have and not always locking yourself in your goals (even if she succeeds in that in terms of work).
Eve works as a school superintendent and specializes in going in and making difficult cuts in municipalities in crisis. This time she gets an assignment in her own hometown. There she meets Liam, who is a music teacher in one of the schools that will be affected by cuts. Is there any way Eve can save the school's culture program?
A good average romantic movie that once again focuses on small town problems.
Oliver has been forced to leave the hectic city life to take care of his newborn daughter after his wife died in childbirth. Seven years later, he lives with his father and works with municipal maintenance.
A decently good film that may not be a pure romantic film, but still.
Elle is busy with work and planning a Christmas party with her friends. In addition, an opportunity for promotion arises that also needs to be prepared. In the middle of it all, she is also tasked with saving a marketing campaign together with the company's mysterious fixer, Max.

But when Alex suddenly gets a job offer in Cleveland, which means they have to (?) get married in January, everything is put on hold. Add to that a reluctant mother-in-law and a scheming girl competing for Alex and the problems pile up.
A romantic film where they have already found each other (exception from the rule) but have to overcome obstacles. You can strongly question why they have to get married before they move in together (is it the 19th century or what?) but as a romantic film it holds up.
Carly and Jason lost touch with each other when Jason left the cooking school they both attended. Now they are suddenly pitted against each other in a reality cooking competition where the first prize is a restaurant of their own. Both have their own reasons for wanting to win the competition. Could their competitive instincts develop into something else?
A cooking film in the spirit of romance. It is reasonably good and delivers as anticipated.
Marco's family bakery in the Bronx has problems. He decides to enter a dessert competition to win the prize money and save the bakery. The problem is that you have to compete in teams of two. Marco has previously met Grace, who is a dessert chef, under bad circumstances. Despite this, he convinces Grace to participate as his second team member.
A rather poorly made film that feels older than it is.
Penelope loves going to Grandma's over the summer despite Grandma constantly trying to pair her with all kinds of bachelors. This summer, Jason, Penelope's old boyfriend, shows up. His grandmother is exactly the same and also best friends with Penelope's grandmother. The situation becomes embarrassing and troublesome. To avoid constant dates that their grandmothers arrange, Penelope and Jason pretend they are back together. What can this lead to?

A slightly unusual romantic film that is more Hollywood than Hallmark. Reese Witherspoon plays Elisabeth. But it is romantic and it also has some funny points.
Ahley was born with luck. At a masquerade ball, she happens to kiss Jake, who has been unlucky all his life. At the kiss, their fates are changed, Ashley's life is shattered while Jake suddenly succeeds in everything. Could Ashley be able to switch back?

A good romantic film about how to overcome bad experiences. Lots of feel-good along the way.
Luke and Zoe meet at a summer camp and fall for each other. They promise to keep in touch and then they don't. Many years later, Zoe is sent away to buy up the camp for the company she works for. They want to demolish it and build an elite retreat instead. However, the camp has recently been bought by a mysterious business executive and Zoe is tasked with closing the deal with him.
A nice little film about reconnecting and finding romance.
One of Santa's reindeer is injured before Christmas and the stable master, John, is sent off to find a replacement. John ends up in Alaska where Annie runs a reindeer farm alone with her daughter. The farm is threatened by foreclosure from the bank. When John shows up, Annie mistakes him for a representative from the company trying to take over her farm and refuses to have anything to do with him. However, it turns out that Annie has a reindeer that could save Christmas. John must find a way to convince Annie to help him.
A fairly harmless film with Santa, Mrs Santa and magic.
Kate is a lost woman who has undergone a heart transplant and is trying to get her life in order. She meets Tom, who makes her see life in a brighter light.
A good movie that is more drama than romance. It has a decent twist at the end (not a happy romantic ending but still good, this is one of the few exceptions to my rule about which films to include).
The three sisters Megan, Bethany and Audry gather back in their hometown at their parents' house to celebrate Christmas. To their surprise, the parents announce that they plan to retire and sell the house to move to Arizona. The three sisters handle this very differently. When it turns out that the buyer is Megan's boyfriend from school days who is going to refurbish and resell the house, the situation becomes even more complicated.
A good romantic film and although the ending is of course predictable, I think they pulled it together well.
Stephanie works for her father in a company that runs luxury resorts. She is a driven businesswoman who doesn't have much to spare for Christmas. Stephanie is now sent to the company's latest purchase, a winter hotel. It is the first time they have invested in a winter resort and Stephanie is not fond of the cold. She meets the former owners and their son Brady. It turns out that they are not prepared for the big changes that the company is planning.
A romantic film where the company's thirst to make money is pitted against Christmas traditions and family coziness. It's okay bot not very good.
Henry lived next door to Claire when they were at school. They were good friends but Claire had another boyfriend. During the last days of school, Henry writes a love letter to Claire but never dares to deliver it, so Claire never knows that he is in love with her. Ten years later, Henry goes home with his friend Tom to celebrate his mother's 50th birthday. He is completely taken aback when it turns out that Claire has temporarily moved into her old parents' home. Not only that, but his friend Tom also finds his old love letter.
A well-made romantic film with good actors and a story that at first makes you wonder how it will last the whole film, but then lasts all the way.
Holly and Eric don't get along after a disastrous date arranged for them by their best friends. When their friends later die in a car accident, it turns out that they named Holly and Eric as guardians of their little girl Sophie. Reluctantly, they must now work together to care for Sophie while their respective lives are turned upside down.
A good romantic film where they are forced to reevaluate their lives between diaper changes and child cries.
Movie star Emma likes to pair up people around her. When she gets a new neighbour, she tries to pair her up with her agent. Things don't go so well and at the same time Emma herself ends up in various romantic problems.
A romantic film where the romances develop in a different direction than what Emma expects. A fairly good one.
The Angioli and Campo families have been in a feud since the fathers got into conflict and started pizzerias next to each other. Their children Nikki and Leo were childhood best friends. Now Nikki is at cooking school in London, while Leo is still working with his father. In order to take an opportunity that opened up in London, Nikki must return to Canada to apply for a new visa. When she gets home, she meets Leo again and finds herself in the middle of the family fight.
An ok film that is a true romcom with both romance and comedy. A bit lightweight though.
Widow Erin goes with her two daughters to celebrate Christmas with her father and his new wife. They have unresolved issues since Erin's childhood. Once there, she meets Mateo, who runs the local restaurant.
The film is a little below par mostly due to the fact that the alleged conflict between father and daughter is never really there. The only thing seems to be that he was an absent father, but you lack conviction in the conflict.
Annie has finally managed to get her first book published. It is about her relationship with the fictional George and is an instant success. The problem is that her publisher now wants her to advertise the book together with George (who doesn't exist). At the same time, Annie, who now believes in fate, meets her mother's real estate broker, who happens to be called George. Will she succeed in convincing him to play George from the book and can it become a real romantic story. In the midst of all this, Annie's school friend Henry, who is now a landscape architect, appears in the mix.
A good romantic film about not going completely into the dream images conveyed by the "believe it and it will come true" philosophies.
Carol is a single mother who holds fast to tradition in her energetic commitment to the school and the town. Terry and his daughter move to town. He is there to project manage at a hotel construction. He and his daughter move around the country depending on where his job takes him. Now, however, he feels that he should be more involved with his daughter and decides to engage and help with the school's Christmas play. Terry, who is very much into inventing new things, is now pitted against the tradition-bound Carol.
The film is okay, but not a top-notch production.
Zoe works in a lab and develops new flavours for a coffee shop chain. The owner wants to create 'authenticity' around his products so he sends Zoe to Columbia to find a coffee grower with the right profile. She finds Diego growing and roasting coffee on his farm.
A bit of a cliché film and a bit stiffly performed. Especially when it comes to the film's "famme fatal", Diego's former girlfriend.
Maggie goes to Love, Alaska, to take over her uncle's clinic that she just inherited. There she meets her childhood friend, Finn, who works as a pilot. He suffers from PTSD and plans to move to California, but he receives the other half of the inheritance on the condition that he help Maggie get the clinic in order.
A good romantic film that also offers a small epilogue.
Ally, who runs a commercial garden, temporarily takes care of a retired military dog. She has to deal with her ex as he is the local landscape architect and the commercial garden's biggest customer. When the dog's handler, Jake, returns from his duty, he insists on helping Ally with various carpentry tasks as a thank you for taking such good care of the dog.
A fairly well-constructed story that develops well without irrational behaviour that feels contrived. If you can overlook the American nationalism surrounding those who serve in the military, it makes for a good movie.
Julia struggles with starting her interior design firm together with her good friend. At the same time, she realizes her old dream of getting a dog. She finds the dog King at a dog adoption center. At first, she declines the help of Owen, the centre's owner, to train with King. Over time, however, she accepts the help. While they train, a romance develops while Julia also tries to get her company up and running.
A good movie with romance and dogs.
Hope is about to buy the dance studio where she works. Meanwhile, she is given the task of training the future bride and groom Eric and Adriana, a couple in the business society, for their wedding dance. Eric is a pretty lousy dancer while Adriana is pretty good and Adriana focuses on work instead and Hope gets to train Eric alone. Both Eric and Hope have reason to question their life choices.
A good movie (despite the dance theme for which I don't usually have much to spare). Everything develops at a reasonable pace and it becomes a good story.
Lily works at her sister's Inn and would like to take responsibility for the event planning. A wedding party arrives at the Inn, including Noah, the groom's brother, who is a workaholic and finds it difficult to concentrate on having fun with the family.
A so-so story. Jonathan Keltz who plays Noah does not convince. The take away is probably really the romance that takes place on the side, but that's about 1% of the film.
Alexa loses her job as an event planner at the hotel her father used to own. She is trying to start her own company and her best friend, Alexandra, who is a celebrity blogger, assigns her the task of arranging the blog's broadcasts from a cruise ship. There she has to work with Tony who is a probationary cruise host during these cruises. Will her orderly planning work with Tony's freer problem-solving attitude?
A good film in a cruise setting. It delivers what it should.
Sophie is about to over stress at her interior design firm and her partner sends her off on two weeks' leave. She decides to seek out Summerside, where her Nana used to paint long ago, to isolate herself and rest. There she lives at the Sunset Terrace bed & breakfast run by Michael a widower who is also focused on raising his daughter, Kailey. Sunset Terrace used to be a lively place before Michael's wife died but now they don't hold events anymore. Sophie starts pushing to get the activities going again much to Michael's hesitation.
A good romantic film about living in grief and seriousness but also letting in the joy and romance.
Kat and Sam have been sitting at the same kids' table at the Christmas party every year since they were four. As they reach their late teens, a new kind of tension begins to develop between them, but nothing ever comes of it. We follow them through the Christmas parties in their twenties, but there’s always something that keeps them from getting it right. Finally, after five years of absence, Sam has mustered the courage to try to change things. But will their long history continue to stand in the way?
I don’t really like these films where the characters only meet once a year, and much of what happens in between is left unexplored. Do they never see each other during the year, even though their families seem so close? However, as a romantic story, it still holds up but it does not captivate.
As usual, Jenna goes to the coast with her children over the summer. This time they end up next door to the seemingly carefree Lucas. Jenna, who is working on finishing her second short story, is disturbed by Lucas' somewhat loud life and mischievous dog and tries to set boundaries so that she can work. Meanwhile, Lucas reluctantly gets involved in Jenna's son's swimming ambitions and her daughter's fascination with the dog.
The movie works well as a romantic story with the initial conflict where you slowly see other sides that make it better.
After her father dies, Violet tries to save his perfume company and recreate his latest recipe. She fights against the big perfume company run by Olivia who copies perfumes and sells them cheaply. On a visit to a local botanical garden, she meets Dec who works there. It turns out he has a phenomenal sense of smell. Can he help her recreate her father's perfume?
A normal romantic film but a bit badly edited and not entirely convincing. A bit blend.
Claire is starting up her new business. Meanwhile, her mother, Helen, tries to match her with one guy after another, much to Claire's annoyance. By chance, her mother finds Eric, who allows himself to be persuaded to seek out Claire. They find each other and romance blossoms, but what will happen when Claire finds out that her mother is behind this romance as well?
A good romantic film where the mother does not actually go completely unpunished for her eternal match-making. Even if she gets what she wants in the end.
Danielle works for the cool fashion magazine, Beguile, but when a co-worker steals her idea (and boyfriend), she gets so angry in front of the editor-in-chief that she gets fired. To get distance from it all, she goes back to her hometown in Romania. There she meets the Englishman Adrian, who is there to look over the town's textile factory. Danielle starts designing clothes for the factory workers.
This movie gets such a high rating maybe because I didn't have high expectations for it. The fact that the film is reasonably well made, actually partly shot in Romania and that the Romanians sometimes (but not for the most part) speak Romanian was a positive surprise.
Bookseller Emma has been a hopeless romantic all her life. While her investor wants his son, Eric, to spend time in Emma's bookstore to see if he can come up with ideas to improve it, Emma meets Landon who fulfils Emma's ideal image of what her "prince" would be like. Eric and Emma find themselves at odds with each other as she gets to know Landon. At the same time, Emma's sister, who is just about to get married, begins to doubt whether her fiancé is as committed to their relationship as she wishes.
A good romantic film about the dream man maybe not as good as you think.
Kennedy inherits her parents' farm in Nebraska. The will stipulates that she must go there on the spot to be able to sell it. Once there, she meets Derek who takes care of the farm. When Kennedy starts reviewing the numbers from the farm, something is not right. She also begins to do more research into her family and the family feud buried in time.
A well constructed romantic film with a bit more drama than normal.
Hayley is trying to make it as a clothing designer. When her best friend, who follows the reality show about a bachelor who has to choose a bride, sees the chance to apply to be on the show, she brings Hayley along for moral support. It doesn't fare any better that both she and Hayley are accepted (even though Hayley didn't apply). However, Hayley allows herself to be persuaded as it could give her a chance to launch her clothing designs.
Even though I hate reality shows, this worked as a romantic movie despite the theme but not all the way.
Elizabeth is to get engaged to her colleague and childhood friend George. But is it really the right man for her? During the week leading up to the engagement party, she is exposed to David, George's brother. He has always been the free type and not as boxed in and planned as George.
Better than expected. A fairly quiet romantic film, predictable but very feel good and no one is left alone at the end.
